TUGI is also registered with Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) www.trai.gov.in and a member of CAG (Consumer Advocacy Group) set up by the TRAI and work closely with International Telecom Users Group (INTUG) and other regional users group like TUANZ and ATUG.

With the continued advancement in telecommunication technologies and with the rapid growth of voice, data and video services - the need arose for the national and International Telecommunications Users Organisation to collaborate more effectively in order to influence national and international policies, regulations, standards, interoperability, tariffs and Quality of Services to promote freedom for the customer in regard to choice of products and services.
