It is targeted to a cross section of executives and decision makers. In particular it is designed for non-technical people in Sales, Marketing, Management, Finance and other non-technical roles who have a role in planning, financing, managing, marketing, selling, or supporting a WiMAX product or service.
Audience targeted includes:
- Telecommunication carriers, operators, DSL and Cable Providers
- Wired and wireless ISPs, ILECS, CLECs and Satellite Operators
- Enterprise network managers, operations and planning staff,
- Fortune Level Business Executives: CEO, COOs, CSOs, CIOs, Wireless OEMs, ODMS and IDMs.
- Public utility companies and Public-access Wi-Fi vendors
- Researchers, analysts, investors and others allied to the field
Workshop Highlights
To equip the participants with the requisite knowledge, a brief overview on the key characteristics of WiMAX standards, technology and regulatory aspects will be presented. The rest of the course will focus on the WiMAX ecosystem, understanding the value chain and identifying key market and product opportunities for investment and business decisions. Participants will learn how to spot opportunities from market inefficiencies to understand the impact of WiMAX and WiFi devices in the converged marketplace and the business models that drive the wireless broadband industry today. In addition, the impact of cellular devices and merging of devices with infrastructure will be discussed.
Market analysis and understanding requirements will be discussed in details. Due to the ever-increasing feature rich devices flooding the market, it is important to understand the technical and business issues related to product conception, design, manufacturing and rollout. For WiMAX enabled devices, the added dimension of regulatory and spectrum policies and coexistence with existing technologies can provide a real challenge to companies offering WiMAX products and/or services. A primer on roadmap management will be added to enhance participants understanding of the converged product development life-cycle. The coupling of the analysis and requirements will drive the future trends in product and developments and service rollouts. Participants will analyze case studies to reinforce the principles of designing products with the right features and price for the right market and time.
