WiMAX Forum® Certified Training Series
Alongside WiMAX Global CongressWiMAX Forum RF Network Engineer Certification Boot Camp
16-19 June, Amsterdam (£1,795 +VAT)
A comprehensive skills-based course for RF-network planners.
This four-day course is designed for engineers who have some RF background, to develop their RF engineering skills, specifically for WiMAX network design. The boot camp covers all of the necessary topics to prepare a technical student to take the WiMAX Forum RF Network Engineer™ certification exam.
Engineers who are planning a WiMAX deployment will acquire the skills to design the network, balancing the requirements of service quality (including throughput and performance) with minimum capital and operations cost. The emphasis is on the design of the RF access network, including base station engineering and siting, and propagation analysis to serve fixed and mobile subscriber stations.

WiMAX Explained
19-20 June, Amsterdam (£1095 +VAT)
This two day course introduces both technical and non technical aspects of WiMAX to enable the delegate to fully understand how this important new technology fits into the future of wireless communications. The need for WiMAX enabled services are analysed, followed by examples of current and future WiMAX applications, including broadband wireless access (BWA), backhaul networks, and mobile systems. The use of WiMAX in both licensed and un-licensed bands is explored, together with the major differences in deployment for the differing WiMax scenarios, as well as the role of IEEE and other standardisation initiatives.

WiMAX and 802.16e: Broadband Wireless Standards
16-17 June, Amsterdam (£1095 + VAT)
This two-day course focuses on the contents of the IEEE 802.16-2004 and 802.16e-2005 standards for broadband wireless access technology. It is developed and delivered by standards engineers from DoceoTech. The IEEE standards content is supplemented with information from WiMAX Forum white papers and publications.
This course is designed for students who are working on WiMAX and 802.16e-based products and services, or expect to be working on those projects soon. A student who is just beginning to work on broadband wireless projects will gain a fundamental understanding of the 802.16 standards, and the activities of the WiMAX Forum.
